MATHMOD 2018 Extended Abstract Volume, ARGESIM Report 55 (ISBN 978-3-901608-91-9), p 5-6, DOI: 10.11128/arep.55.a55113

Abstract

This paper presents a work in progress in dynamic modelling of a Smart-Grid for the energy management of a small vehicle prototype powered by solar energy. The Smart-Grid is composed of a photo-voltaic (PV) panel, other renewable sources, battery, DC/DC converters, accessories, motor and regenerative brake. The model is developed from subsystems models and aimed mainly at control design purposes. For each subsystem the mathematical, physical principles and assumptions are presented with references to literature and local simulations for some of the units. Model parameters are obtained from nominal values from bibliography and characteristic data sheets from industry, and simulation results are presented for validation purposes. The models are developed in the Modelica object oriented acausal modelling language with the Dymola tool, and reusing models provided in the Modelica Standard Library (MSL) as much as possible.
