MATHMOD Conference Series

At MATHMOD Vienna scientists and engineers using or developing models or interested in the development or application of various modelling tools are offered an opportunity to present ideas, methods and results and discuss their experiences or problems with experts of various areas of specialisation.

The scope of the MATHMOD Conference Series covers theoretic and applied aspects of various types of mathematical modelling. Comparison of modelling approaches, model simplification, modelling uncertainties, port-based modelling and the impact of items such as these on problem

solution, numerical techniques, validation, automation of modelling and software support for modelling, co-simulation, etc are discussed.

The Conference Series MATHMOD Vienna - Vienna International Conference on Mathematical Modelling was started in February 1994 with the 1st MATHMOD conference MATHMOD 1994, followed in February 1997 by the 2nd MATHMOD conference MATHMOD 1997, in February 2000 by the 3rd MATHMOD conference MATHMOD 2000, and in February 2003 by the 4th MATHMOD conference MATHMOD 2003.

In February 2003 the 5th MATHMOD Conference, MATHMOD 2006, took place. This conference gathered about 300 scientist from 26 countries, showing the broad variety of the "art of mathematical modelling" - not only including theoretical mathematical aspects, but also incorporating any kind of application, implementation and software design based on formal or mathematical models. The next conference in these series, MATHMOD 2009 - 6th Vienna International Conference on Mathematical Modelling - is scheduled for February 11 - 13, 2009.
